4341. H.R.H the prince of Wales, K.G (Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David) was born at White Lodge, Richmond, on 23rd June 1894. At 13 he went to Osborne; afterward to Dartmouth ; was rated a midshipman, June 1911. Continued his education in France and at Oxford. When war broke out, August 1914, he was gazettes 2nd lieutenant grenadier guards. Eager for active service, he was promoted to lieutenant and attached to field marshal french's staff.
